Jamey O'Donnell

Founder & Author — Pygmy Monk Publications

Founder & Author

Jamey O'Donnell is a writer from Denver, Colorado — and the founder of Pygmy Monk Publications.

Jamey began writing during the Covid pandemic in the summer of 2021 and has written 5 novels since. He usually wakes around 3 AM, and after having coffee and a cigarette, sits down at his computer and begins writing.

He never writes an outline — instead writing from his hip, never knowing exactly where he's going to go in the story. His goal is to write a chapter a day. At this pace, his start-to-finish time is usually around 3 weeks, not including editing.

In early 2026, he reclaimed the rights to all five of his novels from AuthorHouse — and founded Pygmy Monk Publications to ensure that writers always own their work.

"I fought to get my books back. Now I help other writers so they never have to."
